Before traveling to Peru in 2011, Mark and Kristin had it on their heart to seek out a Peruvian with a call to serve as a medical missionary. If such a person could be found and equipped, this would help sustain medical assistance for children. During their visit, someone overheard Kristin’s conversation at a baby shower with those around her about hoping to find a person with a call to medical missions. The person who overheard the conversation immediately thought of Tiffany Nunez, a bright young Peruvian woman who had such a dream! Mark and Kristin had previously met Tiffany, though they were unaware of this desire in her heart. In March 2013, Tiffany entered medical school in Bolivia on a scholarship provided by Victoria’s Little Lambs Fund. Tiffany’s desire is to be a medical missionary to children. She hopes to return to Pucallpa and start her own medical clinic, not just treating patients, but educating them in preventive health.
Tiffany is now in her 5th year of medical school, and would like to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. Whether returning to Pucallpa or remaining in Bolivia, she envisions not just treating patients, but educating them in preventive health, and imparting the hope to them that she has in the Lord. She has a special desire to have the opportunity to pray for needy children and their moms, and for babies at their very moment of birth! In August 2017, she plans to be married to Ernesto, whom she met at her church in Bolivia. She is active in a ministry that works with poor children near where she lives in Cochabamba. We rejoice for how God is helping children through her even as she prepares for and dreams of serving needy children through medicine one day. She is a special part of our family!
